All About Me

I began my interest in teaching by going to Cal State Fullerton.  I received a Bachelors in Science with focus in Early Childhood Development and for fun a Bachelors in Arts with focus in Dance.  I got my teaching credential from Cal State Fullerton and went on to teaching in the classroom.  I decided I wasn't done and went back to school to get my Masters at Cal State Long Beach in Early Childhood Education.

This will be my 20th year teaching here at Oak Grove.  I have taught both first and second grade at this school, and now I am on my fifth year of teaching third grade!  I enjoy every day in teaching your children and making learning fun and exciting.  Your child will have a memorable time in our third grade class.

My family is important to me too.  My husbands' name is Todd and I have two boys ages 15 and 13.

My special interests are:  spending time with my boys, going to the beach, hummingbirds, collecting seahorse stuff and having fun!

Wish List Items:

Auction items- I prefer useful items such as erasers, cards, note pads, hair things for girls, legos, books, or games.  Even bigger items such as gift certificates, notebooks, t-shirts, or cute reusable bags.

Thanks for all your support!

**Please note that the Constitution of the State of California requires that we provide a public education to you free of charge.  Your right to a free education is for all school/educational activities, whether curricular or extracurricular, and whether you get a grade for the activity or class.  Subject to certain exceptions, your right to a free public education means that we cannot require you or your family to purchase materials, supplies, equipment or uniforms for any school activity, nor can we require you or your family to pay security deposits for access, participation, materials, or equipment.

Therefore, while these lists suggest that students bring a number of items, they are considered voluntary.  No student will be restricted from participation if they are not sent to school.

Fun, Free Activities

Home Depot-  First Saturday of every month from 9-12 Home Depot offers free building workshops for kids. You can go to homedepot.com/workshops to see what they will be making next time.

Lego-  The Lego store at the Mission Viejo mall offers a free lego making of a themed lego your child can make and take home.  It is the first Tuesday and Wednesday of the month at 5pm but you need to go early because last time I went the line was a bit long.  Just go to Lego.com to find out what they are making each month.

Homework Connection:

Homework is daily!  Please have your child keep all homework in their folder after it is completed at night.  Please check their folder nightly and sign for Friday at the end of the week.

Reminders and Notes:

Birthdays-  If your child has a birthday, they may bring a pencil for each student or donate a book to our class library. This year I have students who have food allergies.

If your child goes home in a different way than normal, please let me know as soon as possible.  This way I can be sure to send them in the right direction.

Thank you!
