About Ms. Lee

I am living my childhood dream being a teacher.  I have been teaching for thirteen years.  I taught 5thgrade at Foxborough Elementary until it closed. I moved to Wood Canyon Elementary School with most of Foxborough’s staff and students. I did a volunteer transfer to Oak Grove in 2010 and I feel so lucky and blessed to now be a part of Oak Grove’s family!

I was born, and lived the first years of my life, in Huntington Beach. My mom, a single parent, raised my brother and me, being a teacher herself. We moved to Laguna Niguel when I was in 4thgrade, where I attended Moulton Elementary School. I then went to Niguel Hills Middle School and from there graduated from Dana Hills High School (Go Dolphins!).  I completed my Bachelors Degree in Liberal Studies at Cal State Fullerton and received my Masters in Reading and Technology with a special emphasis on GATE students in the regular education classroom.

In April of 2009, I was extremely blessed to have two beautiful children; Mason and Peyton. Mason is my son who was born one minute earlier than his sister Peyton. They attended two years of Preschool here at Oak Grove and this year are in Kindergarten! They love it! :) They both are my pride and joy and keep me busy and on my toes! J

When I’m not teaching you can find me playing with my kids at the park, running or shopping at Target (my favorite store J).  I often feel like there is not enough time in the day to accomplish all that I would like, but I enjoy trying! J

I absolutely love being a teacher and hope that my joy becomes contagious with my students. I honestly feel blessed to have the opportunity to touch my student’s lives on a daily basis. I take my position very seriously and have a blast doing it! I know that 5thgrade is an extremely important year of a child’s life, as they are being prepared for Middle School. I find it critical that I both train and model what it is to be a Scholar and instill in my students the importance of being organized, setting goals, and never giving up on themselves or their goals. I am a strong believer of perseverance and setting high expectations to allow for constant growth both in and out of school. I look forward to a successful, positive and productive year!
